When you register an account, we collect your email address and an optional display name. When you list a server, we collect the server name, IP address, description, and other metadata you provide. When you vote, we store a hashed version of your IP address solely to enforce vote cooldowns — we never store raw IP addresses in plaintext for identification purposes.
2. How We Use Your Information
We use the information we collect to: provide and maintain the service; authenticate your account; enforce voting cooldowns; send account-related notifications (password reset, confirmation emails); and improve the platform. We do not sell your personal information to third parties.
3. Cookies & Local Storage
We use session cookies to keep you logged in. We may use local storage to save UI preferences such as filter settings. We do not use advertising or tracking cookies. Third-party authentication providers (if enabled) may set their own cookies in accordance with their own privacy policies.
4. Data Retention
Account data is retained as long as your account is active. If you delete your account, we will remove your personal data within 30 days, except where retention is required by law or necessary to prevent abuse. Vote records may be retained in anonymized form for statistical purposes.
5. Third-Party Services
mineserverlist integrates with Cloudflare Turnstile for bot protection (governed by Cloudflare's Privacy Policy), and Next-Auth for session management. Server pings are performed by our servers to check uptime — no user data is transmitted during this process.
6. Data Security
Passwords are hashed using bcrypt and never stored in plain text. Communication with the site is encrypted via HTTPS/TLS. We employ rate-limiting and other measures to protect against unauthorized access. Despite our best efforts, no method of transmission over the Internet is 100% secure.
7. Children's Privacy
mineserverlist is not directed to children under the age of 13. We do not knowingly collect personal information from children under 13. If we become aware that we have collected personal data from a child under 13, we will take steps to delete it promptly.
8. Your Rights
You have the right to access, correct, or delete your personal data. You can update your profile information from your dashboard at any time. To request complete account deletion or a copy of your data, contact us through our official channels listed on the site.
9. Changes to This Policy
We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will notify users of significant changes by posting a notice on the site. Continued use of mineserverlist after changes are posted constitutes your acceptance of the updated policy.
